Bangor University 1884-2009

Detailed Description

Bangor University 1884-2009, written by the Registrar, Dr David Roberts, to commemorate the 125th anniversary, is available for sale (in either Welsh or English) to staff, students and alumni at a discounted price of £24.99.  Proceeds from the sale of the book by the University go towards the University’s Development Fund.

The book traces the fascinating history of the University – from its modest beginnings with 58 students in the Penrhyn Arms hotel to its current standing as an independent university with degree-awarding powers and over 11,000 students and staff. It highlights major developments, leading personalities who have shaped the institution, and changes in campus life in the context of Welsh political and social development.
