Course Description: This course focuses on developing more advanced speaking, reading, listening, and writing skills. The course covers 36 topics, such as understanding life, discussing past and present, listening to and understanding stories/anecdotes, etc. Embedded in those topic-related expressions are over 100 grammatical points.
We expect that by the end of this course, students should be able to attempt taking the HSK 5 Exam. We recommend that at least 6 hours of independent study be undertaken each week to ensure students can keep up with the pace of the course.
For those of you who are perhaps interested in continuing your studies in China, we would like to note that HSK 5 exam is currently a pre-requisite for applications to enrol for a master’s degree at Chinese University.
Learning outcomes: Students are expected to familiarise themselves with 2500 Chinese characters or words used in everyday contexts and to conduct more complex verbal communications. Students are also expected to read and write complex sentences and articles and be able to do some translation.
Learning materials: All teaching materials are developed by our teachers using the HSK 5 book and additional sources. All learning materials will be provided throughout the course.
Online venue: Once you have completed the registration form (below), your course tutor will contact you with the Zoom meeting link for your lesson. You will need to register with Zoom for your free account.
