The School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering offers a wide range of courses for students wishing to learn about the latest developments in computing and electronic technologies. We have a great reputation for helpful, caring staff who undertake world-leading research. A number of our courses are accredited by professional bodies like the British Computer Society and the Institution of Engineering and Technology, which means that learnt skills and attributes are recognised as being the first step to achieving a Chartered Engineer or Chartered Scientist professional qualification.
Our staff figure among the world leaders in a broad range of technologies, from Artificial Intelligence and Pattern Recognition to Data Visualisation; Medical Microwave Electronics and Medical Simulation; Optolectronics, Broadband and Optical Communications; Organic Electronics; Nanotechnology; Nuclear Engineering and more. Undergraduate students undertake their individual and team projects in close collaboration with these researchers, whose expertise and knowledge also informs the undergraduate programmes.
