Specialist Training - Inquiry Skills
£377.00
Add to Basket
Description
The inquiry process is central to the teaching of Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and adapted Mindfulness based approaches. Unlike other elements of mindfulness teaching, inquiry can't be rehearsed and at times theories and various 'shoulds' can get in the way of what can be a fluid, fruitful and enjoyable process of discovery. This two-day training will provide an opportunity to further develop understanding, skill and confidence in the inquiry process.
The training is mainly experiential and will focus on bringing inquiry back to it's essence, supporting teachers to listen in, relax with and enjoy the inquiry process. As part of this we will explore the intentions of inquiry from both inside and outside of the process, and discover the beauty of inquiry as a support to bringing wonder into our lives. There will be plenty of opportunity to practice inquiry in small groups with fellow mindfulness teachers under the guidance of the training team.
This training is an element of the formal Mindfulness Training Pathway delivered in association with Bangor University and the certificate of attendance can be included in your Training Pathway Portfolio. This course can also be taken as a stand-alone training event as part of your own Continuing Professional and Personal Development. If you register on the training pathway after having completed this training, the certificate can be included retrospectively.

Specialist Training: Group Skills
£377.00

Description
This two-day workshop is for mindfulness-based teachers who wish to learn more about groups and how to support the rich potential of the group process in a mindfulness context. The training model is framed around the Inside Out Mindfulness Teaching Group Model (IOG) (Bartley & Griffith, 2022)
Many of us have come into this work with a background in one-to-one work. The skills we have acquired will have many direct benefits for our mindfulness teaching. However, we may find that we continue to teach one-to-one, albeit in a group.
We will explore how to bring this group dimension into all aspects of our mindfulness teaching – including the orientation and assessment process; guiding practices; leading inquiries; and facilitating exercises and group discussions. In doing this, we will learn how to be present and alive to the three dimensions in the group: that of myself as teacher; that of individual participant; and that of the group as a whole.
We will explore the different stages of the group – namely the forming, the holding, and the ending of the group – and how as group leaders we can best support the learning practice of our participants in this group context.

Description
This 6 day practice-based training is designed to strengthen your competencies in communicating mindfulness practices in both personal and professional settings.
This immersive training, delivered online, will further develop confidence in everyday mindful living and mindfulness-based teaching through a broader and deeper understanding of mindfulness and the ever-changing wider issues that impact the way we meet the world.

1. broadening skills and understanding beyond any previous Specialist Training by further exploring key themes within mindfulness and ways of effectively relating these to others.
2. deepening skills and understanding by i/ a principle-led training framed on the 6 MBI-TAC Domains (rather than being limited to any particular 8-week curriculum); and ii/ offering masterclass style mentoring for guiding the main formal mindfulness practices (Body Scan, Movement and Sitting) and the inquiry process linked to these iii) exploring and enhancing understanding of some of the main teaching themes as relevant to the particular teaching specialism you have chosen.
